A Simplistic Review: Nightmare Alley (2021)

It’s odd for me to want more after sitting in my seat for two and half hours, but that’s where I’m at with Guillermo del Toro’s latest, “Nightmare Alley.”

Perhaps that’s a misnomer. I think maybe I was just YEARNING for something else; I wanted more. More character development, more carny stuff, more Ron Perlman, surprisingly, more Rooney Mara, who I actually enjoyed quite a bit.

Never boring, “Alley” is compelling and has some great performances, and the film’s final image is one of the creepiest I’ve seen in some time.

Nightmare Alley is currently on HBO Max
