A Simplistic Review: Old Flame (2022)
The 2022 Brooklyn Horror Film Festival is bringing the heat, or should I say flamethrower with '“Old Flame,” the directorial follow-up from Christopher Denham, who hasn’t been behind the camera since 2014’s “Preservation.”
This time we get a two-person master class in three acts that takes a sharp turn off about midway through the 2nd act in a twist that I was perhaps too naive to see coming.
But it’s perfect.
Rebeca Robles and Andy Gershenzon turn in some fantastic performances.
The camera work and pacing is great in this gaslight-tastic thriller that should put you on notice; the chickens always come home to roost.
