A Simplistic Review: Influencer (2022)
You know something you don’t see often? Nearly 25-minute cold opens in movies. I wish we would see more of this in movies, and it works well here in ‘Influencer’ a clever take on other films like ‘Single White Female’ and ‘Searching.’
While it might become a little messy with some questionable character logic, it’s a fun TWISTY mess with a strong performance by Cassandra Naud, who I hope we start seeing a lot more.
I enjoyed the mean streak ‘Influencer’ brings to the table as well. Personally, I can see why Naud’s character, CW, does what she does. I’m sure why psychotic mind has gone into those dark sides of my subconscious, but it’s a fun commentary on if you’re not “living in the moment” you might not see the monster standing right next to you.
