A Simplistic Review: The Monkey (2025)

Imagine Stephen King, coked out of mind in the 1980s, and he directed this?

That’s but a dream now, but Osgood Perkins is channeling some type of magic in this “Longlegs” follow up, “The Monkey.”

Sure, you grumps will just say this is “Final Destination with a toy monkey.” Okay, I can see that, but just stop.

I don’t think I once laughed in one of the 100 “Final Destination” films, but I just laughed, and hell, enjoyed myself immensely.

And again, you know what I really love? A tongue-in-cheek mean-spirited movie that doesn’t always make sense.
