A Simplistic Review: My Husband, The Cyborg

There is a curiosity about the melding of machine and flesh. From Japanese spatterpunk horror “Tetsuo: The Iron Man” to characters like Lobot in “The Empire Strikes Back.” It might be perverse and unnatural, but in “My Husband, The Cyborg,” it’s a challenge that takes a toll on a marriage while also looking for understanding in something that was always thought as science fiction.

I love the idea of where we are going in incorporating more technology into our physiology, but I’m also I’m a pretty weird individual.

Filmed over the course of three plus years, “Cyborg” is a love story where understanding is the key component for Susanne Cappellaro (who directed) and her husband Scott Cohen after he becomes a cyborg by installing a transmitter called “The North Sense,” into his chest.

The film explores the Singularity subculture from an outsiders lens; looking for truth and understanding while also supporting someone you love even if you don’t fully understand their reasoning.

The future is now.
